In winter, the snow transforms the region into a winter sport center, without any loss of its famous charm. In fact, the Olympic champion skier Markus Wasmeier can often be spotted on the slopes of Spitzing-ski area.

Cross-country and sledding are also possible as is curling and other types of winter sports. We have just recently added the availability of snow shoes for those who would like to take up this rapidly-growing winter sport.
